What if I need to change/cancel my trip?
No problem. Given enough time we can change your booking or cancel it for a small administration fee. If you have to cancel your booking, your cancellation fee will be determined by the amount of notice given. Any cancellation must be made in writing and acknowledged by us. The date on which the letter/email is received by the Company will determine the cancellation charge applicable. The cancellation charges are expressed hereafter as a percentage of the trip price. Note: airlines may impose 100% cancellation charges.
A. Cancellation more than 90 days before start date of trip: $50 fee
B. Cancellation 89-60 days before start date of trip: 30% of trip price
C. Cancellation 59-31 days before start date of trip: 50% of trip price
D. Cancellation less than 30 days before start date of trip: 100% of trip price
If you need to change your booking (ie transfer to another scheduled trip) we can do this once, for a $50 administration fee with more than 60 days notice.
Remember, you may be able to claim through your travel insurance, depending on the terms of your policy.
What if RICA SURF needs to cancel my trip?
We rarely need to cancel a trip, and will always strive to adapt to changes and make sure your holiday goes ahead. When we do have to cancel your trip you can choose between a full refund of all monies paid or an alternative trip offered by RICA SURF. We cannot take responsibility for any incidental expenses you may have incurred while planning your trip, such as visas, vaccinations, flights etc.
What if RICA SURF needs to make changes to the trip?
We always try to maximize YOUR enjoyment of our trips, so occasionally we make changes to improve trip experience. This may include changes to the daily schedule, route, hotels, amenities and transportation arrangements. You will always be informed of these changes by us as soon as possible.
Can I book last minute?
Yes, providing there is space on the trip. We are a small company and our trips have a maximum number of 8 so advance booking is the best way to ensure you have a place. We take bookings (accompanied by full payment) up to the day before the trip starts.
Is there any paperwork?
We do require you to sign a release form, to ensure you are fully aware of the risks involved. We will send this to you once we receive your booking form and initial 50% payment. Just sign it and send it back to us or bring it with you at the start of the trip. You can find a copy here .
What kind of insurance do I need?
We require you to obtain travel insurance with a minimum coverage of $100,000 while traveling with RICA SURF, and this insurance must cover personal injury, medical expenses, repatriation expenses, and evacuation expenses. It must cover all activity to be undertaken on the trip, including, but not necessarily limited to surfing. We strongly recommend that your insurance covers cancellation, curtailment, loss of belongings and all other expenses which might arise.
