Costa Rica is a country renowned for its incredible natural environment and its awareness of the need to protect that environment. It has a reputation as an eco-tourism destination, with some forward thinking strategies on green energy and sustainable development. As surfers and tourists, we are intensely aware and connected to the environment we enjoy, and here at Rica Surf we are committed to its protection and care.

We are proud to anounce our involvment with Decarbonated Sports  http://www.decarbonated-sports.com with whom we offset our carbon expenditure for the day to day running of Rica Surf. Evie Johnstone, one of Rica Surf's owners is also a sponsored surfer for Decarbonated and as a small growing company we hope to continure our relationship with them into a greener future.

We use the world’s first Carbon Neutral airline, Nature Air, for our internal flights and try wherever possible to work with Costa Rican owned businesses to help promote the local economy, especially in rural areas.

We encourage you, our guests to offset your flights, as this is usually the biggest carbon expenditure of your vacation.  

Rica Surf engages with local Costa Rican culture and supports community projects.  Most recently we visited a local orphanage and spent the day making music, cooking and playing football with the kids.  We suppported a ROXY sponsored day out with the children at our local beach and donating our time and teaching services to get them stoked on surfing!
