Cool southern trip

My friend and I spent 7 days with Evie, Nancy and 8 others that traveled to Playa Hermosa all with one goal in mind - to learn how to surf! I had some surfing experience while the rest of the crew didn't have any at all. Evie and Nancy taught us more in one week than what I had tried to learn in three years! With the help of their other instructors, Jair and Gabrial, our entire group was surfing on the first day! In addition to taking us to secret point breaks, they introduced us to amazing local food, shopping, and lots of ladies night spots where we could drink for free! After meeting Nancy and Evie for the first time, you will feel like you have known them forever. They are fun to be around, knowledgable and care about making your time in Costa Rica the trip of a lifetime!

Such a great time at surf camp. Every minute of every day was packed with a surfing adventure in the morning and at least one other fantastic activity in the afternoon. Evie and Nancy even got us to dinner and the best nightlife. The instruction in the water is low key and tailored to the abilities, fitness, and goals of each individual. Everyone was standing the first day, despite many of us trying and failing in the past.

We'll go back for sure.

“One of the best road trips ever with fabulous surf instructions and delish food the entire time!”

Evie and Nancy are fantastic surfers and even better teachers who can pretty much handle anything costa rica throws their way. I spent several days surfing with them locally and then went on a Fabulous road trip to tamarindo and then nasara where we surfed every day and ate fantastic local food. One of the best adventures of my life driving through the beautiful back roads full of local fishing villages. On top of the surfing we also managed to see tons of wild life including monkeys, iguanas, parrots, manta rays, jungle cats, and local rasta boys.

From the moment we purchased the trip to the moment our trip was over we were in the most amazing hands. I will be the first to admit that I was apprehensive about a week long surf camp since I had zero experience surfing. But I was hooked after day 1 and looked forward to our surf lessons and trips every day. This was all thanks to our instructors, Evie and Nancy. Both ladies make sure you feel confident in your surfing while progressing your skills throughout the week. The week was filled with plenty of activities- surf every day, hikes, stand up paddle boarding, zip lining, yoga, as well as plenty of down time to enjoy time by our hotel pool, take a trip to Jaco, or enjoy an afternoon drink at a local restaurant.

My favorite part of the entire week was that Evie and Nancy were great! They were always letting us know their favorite place to grab lunch, the best time to hit the beach for the perfect waves, and the local history.
I highly recommend this trip option for anyone that is new to surfing, looking for a week filled with fun by the beach and the jungle of Costa Rica, or wanting a fully planned week with no worries about what to do because it's all taken care of!

“Fantastic Trip from Start to Finish”

I can't say enough positive things about the week long Rica Surf trip I just returned from. Everything was great. From the surf lessons, to the hotel, to the towns of Hermosa and Jaco. Not being the world's best surfer, I went in with a bit of apprehension, but Nancy and Evie are great instructors that cheer on both your good waves and your gnarly wipeouts equally. The thing that struck me as the most worthwhile however, was having two tour guides showing you not only the best waves, but the best local restaurants, bars, shops, etc.. every day. I certainly got a great feel for Costa Rica that I know I would not have gotten without them. On a scale of 1-10, I rate this trip right around a 43. HIGHLY recommended!!

Waterfall Trip with the Rica Surf Camp, Costa Rica

Our Trip to Tres Piscinas Waterfalls with the Rica Surf crew....

As part of our surf camps, we like to take our guests to all of our favourite places, and yesterday we took the drive to the waterfalls. We have had rainy nights recently, but the days are still hot and sunny, so it makes this time of the year perfect for visiting the waterfalls. These ones, Tres Piscinas, are about a 40 minute drive from where we are based in Playa Hermosa. Once you have parked, there is a gorgeous 15 minute walk through fields and jungle to get to the pools, but make sure don't where your favourite shoes becuase it gets very muddy!! You get to see all sorts of amazing wildlife, and you can jump off two of the waterfalls into deep pools. It's the best and most refreshing way to cool off on a hot day - we love Tres Pisicnas!
